The Fountainhead, Etc.

Veronica would like to postpone tomorrow's meeting and book swap until next Thursday, April 10th. How does this work with everyone's schedules? Does everyone have their book picked out for the swap? I am so excited to see what we come up with!

Also, I know that Veronica, Kari, Angela, and I all possess a copy of The Fountainhead. I propose that we make it our next bookclub selection, after The Thirteenth Tale. Any objections?

Book Swap

So our next meeting is 4/3 at Veronica's house and we're doing the book swap. Can someone tell me if the book we bring should be NEW or can it be USED in good condition? Found my book, but want to check before I buy it.

Wow! I just finished Pillars of the Earth, or should I say, devoured Pillars of the Earth.... Kari, you were so right about it. Wow, I am amazed! And John gave me World Without End for Valentine's Day.... so exciting! Can't wait to start..... but, alas, I must read Water for Elephants before bookclub...

What a Great Blog Nicole!

Nicole! This is awesome! You did such a great job! That is a really good picture of us all too! I am excited to meet this month. Can't wait to see where Veronica picks! Can't say as I am to excited about the book....but I am excited to meet. Wish we were discussing Pillars! Love that book.

Unfortunately I think I will be able to be there....we may not get Karaline until Feb. We are waiting on OUR country now. Eventually...you never know, they could call today and say come next week. Wishfull thinking.

selections for '08

We came up with a creative new way to select our books for 2008. During our Christmas gathering at the end of November, each member brought a book for a grab bag.... we played the open and steal game and everyone ended up with a book... and those books will be the first 6 books we will read for 2008. Numbers were drawn for the grab bag, so that was how we selected the order to read them. Whoever's book we are reading will also select the venue for the book club meeting (a restuarant, a coffee shop, their home, Las Vegas, Paris, etc.)
